What happens when Bullish is down?

Bullish uses Status Page to provide real-time updates on maintenance that may impact the exchange services. Customers can subscribe to the Bullish Status Page and receive notifications.

To subscribe, visit our Status Page at Bullish Status and click on the "Subscribe to Updates" button. Alerts will be sent by email from status.notices@bullish.com and/or by SMS.

Maintenance communications

Bullish Status Page subscribers will receive notifications explaining the details of the maintenance, including which services will be unavailable and, when reasonably possible, an indication of when the services are due to be restored. Please note that in the event of maintenance, open orders are subject to cancellation.

Additionally, a banner will appear across the Bullish exchange UI, during the maintenance window.

Scheduled maintenance

When Bullish is unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, we will make every reasonable effort to alert you via email or SMS at least 24 hours before maintenance begins. Maintenance updates will be posted on the Bullish Status Page.

Unplanned maintenance

When Bullish is unavailable due to unscheduled maintenance, we will make every reasonable effort to alert you via email after maintenance has started. When Bullish is unavailable due to unscheduled maintenance, we will make every reasonable effort to alert you via email or SMS after maintenance has started. Maintenance updates will be posted on the page.

After maintenance completes

Some maintenance can be completed without impacting the trading service.

In the case where the trading service was impacted, we reserve the right to extend the maintenance, typically 15 minutes, due to changes in market conditions. The extension will allow more time for you to:

  • Cancel open limit orders
  • Terminate AMM Instructions
  • Deposit additional funds*
  • Transfer funds between your trading accounts

*Note that you can send funds to your deposit address(es) at any time, but your Bullish account balances may not update until the maintenance has concluded.

The alert email will notify you of the planned window, if any. You can use the time window to deposit additional collateral if markets have moved while the exchange was unavailable, thus avoiding liquidation when trading resumes. Trading services, including risk calculations and the chance of account liquidation, resume after the time window has passed.
