About the identity confirmation process
As a regulated exchange, we require all customers to provide proof of their identity and address by completing our identity confirmation process upon signing up for a Bullish account. You cannot register with us nor trade and/or deposit assets without successfully completing the identity confirmation process.
Required documents
During the identity confirmation process, we require the following identification information:

Government approved ID that shows your nationality (Valid passport, National ID card or a full valid driving license)

Identity confirmation steps
Identity
- Log into https://exchange.bullish.com/.
- Choose Begin Confirmation Process.
- Choose the box next to Allow Bullish to collect and use my live self-portrait.
- Choose Submit My ID.
- Choose Start under Start verification.
- Choose the issuing country/region for your ID.
- Choose the ID type.
- Submit your ID by either taking a photo, uploading a copy, or using your mobile device.
- Follow these instructions on how to add your ID:
- Do not wear glasses or other accessories.
- Make sure your face shows a neutral expression, without smiling.
- Make sure there is no glare or extreme light.
- Choose Start to take a live photo of your face to confirm your ID.
- Place your face in the oval.
- Choose I'm ready when you are ready to take your photo.
Address
- Enter your address.
- Choose the document type you will use to prove your address.
Note: The proof of address document should include your legal name and address. Accepted documents include utility bills, bank statements, tax returns, etc., issued within three calendar months before the date you register for a Bullish account. - Choose Submit My Address.
- Upload the document.
- Choose Continue.
Tax information (for individual accounts)
- Choose Fill out tax form.
- Fill out your financial and tax information.
- Choose Add tax residence if you have more than one tax residence.
Note: Your tax residency is the country where you are resident/registered for tax purposes. Each country has its own rules for defining tax residence. For more information on tax residence, please consult your tax adviser or the tax residency pages of the OECD CRS portal. -
For each tax residence selected, provide a Tax Identification Number (TIN).

If your TIN is not available, choose I don’t have a TIN and choose either of the reasons.

If the second reason is selected, (e.g. you are unable to obtain a TIN or equivalent number), please explain why you are unable to obtain a TIN in the textbox.

Choose I declare that I'm not a US person if you are not a US person.
Note: “U.S. Person” means a U.S. citizen or resident individual, a partnership or corporation organized in the United States or under the laws of the United States or any State thereof, a trust if:(i) a court within the United States would have authority under applicable law to render orders or judgments concerning substantially all issues regarding administration of the trust, and
(ii) one or more U.S. persons have the authority to control all substantial decisions of the trust, or an estate of a decedent that is a citizen or resident of the United States. This definition shall be interpreted in accordance with the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.

Final steps
Once you have successfully uploaded all the required documents, you will receive a confirmation email at your registered email address. The email is valid for 24 hours.
- Choose the log in button in the confirmation email. You will be directed to Bullish to confirm your personal information.
- Choose The following is correct once you have confirmed all the information. If you see You are confirmed, then your account has been successfully created and confirmed.
If you do not receive a confirmation email after 10 minutes:
- Check your spam folder for the confirmation email from donotreply@email.bullish.com.
- Log into Bullish to check your confirmation status.
If you do not find the email or your confirmation status isn't showing confirmed, you will need to start the identity confirmation process again. After you have done the second identity confirmation process and still do not get a confirmation email, please reach out to our Customer Support for assistance.
Automated identity confirmation processing time
The identity confirmation process will take 5-10 minutes if the information provided is easily confirmed. If a manual review is required, the process could take longer.
