The passkey you use to create your Bullish account is automatically registered as your linked passkey. We recommend using a personal device and linking more than one personal device for added security in the event you lose access to one of your linked passkeys.

You can add an internal passkey, such as your laptop’s built-in biometric sensor or smartphone’s Face ID, and an external hardware passkey, such as a YubiKey®.

You can link or remove a passkey at any time, but you must have at least one linked passkey.

If you lose access to one or all of your passkeys, Bullish has an Account Recovery process that will allow you to quickly regain access to your account.

Register a passkey

    1. Navigate to https://exchange.bullish.com/add-passkey

    2. Enter the email you used to sign up for Bullish.

    3. Choose Begin Registration. You will receive an email from donotreply@email.bullish.com to complete the process.

    4. Choose Log In in the email on your new device.

    5. Name your new passkey.

    6. Choose For devices that use Face ID or a fingerprint.

    7. Choose Finalize Registration. In the passkey registration browser pop-up, choose Continue if you are using biometrics such as Face ID or a fingerprint. If you wish to use a different passkey method, choose Use a different device.

      Note:This terminology is specific to Google Chrome and may be different on another browser.

    8. Choose Log in. You will now need to log in using a previously linked passkey to approve this new device.

    9. Log in using a previously linked passkey. After successful login, you will be presented with a pop-up to approve the new passkey.

    10. Choose Yes, Approve in the New passkey detected pop-up window.

    11. Enter your 6-digit Bullish PIN. Choose Confirm.
    12. Perform WebAuthn. You have now successfully added the new passkey. You can use this new passkey to access your Bullish account.

Adding a new external hardware passkey

To add a new external hardware passkey to your account:

  1. Go to your User Menu in the upper right of the screen.
  2. Choose Settings.
    Choose settings from drop down menu
  3. Navigate to Passkey Management.

  4. Choose the Add button.

  5. Choose For plug-and-go devices.

  6. Name your new passkey. Choose Continue.

  7. Insert your new external hardware passkey. Choose I've Inserted My Key and follow the instructions to register your new external hardware passkey.

  8. Once complete registering your new external hardware passkey. You will need to unplug your new external hardware passkey.

  9. Enter your 6-digit Bullish PIN. Choose Confirm.

  10. Enter your 6-digit Bullish PIN. Choose Confirm.
  11. Perform WebAuthn to authorize the new external hardware passkey using the same internal or external hardware passkey used to log in. You have now successfully added the new passkey. You can now use the newly added passkey to access your Bullish account.

To see your newly added passkeys:

  1. Go to your User Menu in the upper right of the screen.
  2. Choose Settings.
    Choose settings from drop down menu
  3. Choose Passkey Management.

If the previously registered passkey(s) cannot be accessed, or your new passkey was rejected, please reach out to our Customer Support for assistance.

Trouble connecting your passkey?

Your passkey may fail to connect to your account if your software/hardware has not been updated. For mobile devices, make sure that you are running the latest versions for:

  • Android - Version V7+ and SDK levels 24-29+
  • iOS - Version 14.2+.

Unlinking a passkey

If you will no longer use one of your passkeys to log into your Bullish account and you still have access to that passkey, we recommend you unlink it first for security reasons. Remember that you must always have at least one linked passkey at all times.

To unlink a passkey:

  1. Go to your User Menu in the upper right of the screen.
  2. Choose Settings.
    Choose settings from drop down menu
  3. Choose Passkey Management.

  4. Find the passkey to be unlinked and choose Remove.

  5. Confirm the statement by choosing Yes, Continue.

  6. Enter your 6-digit Bullish PIN. Choose Confirm.
  7. Perform WebAuthn to confirm the action.

If you removed a passkey in error, you can link it to your account again.

Linking one passkey to multiple accounts

There is no restriction on the number of accounts associated with one passkey.

Viewing your registered passkeys

To see your registered passkeys:

  1. Go to your User Menu in the upper right of the screen.
  2. Choose Settings.
    Choose settings from drop down menu
  3. Choose Passkey Management.
